Have you made the trip to Big Crystal Creek north of Townsville and camped at the Paradise Waterhole? If so you would have heard of a popular swimming spot for tourists and locals alike known as “The Rockslides”.

Few choose to venture further up the creek that feeds the “Rockslides” and subsequently flows into Big Crystal Creek. In the past, the Townsville Hike and Explore Group has hiked the Nolans Gully Creekline in it’s entirety from near the Paluma Village at close to 1000 metres elevation, all the way down to “The Rockslides”.

Today we chose to explore the lower reaches of the creek line above “The Rockslides” with an avid group of explorers who didn’t mind getting their feet wet!
