The Hike and Explore networks are fortunate to have many of our regions experienced and knowlegeable adventurers as valued contributors, both by assisting with organising and running events, and volunteering their time to share their wealth of outdoor knowledge with our group and followers.

At our monthly Adventure Sessions event held at Castle Hill, Mango, one of our group members and hike leaders, spoke with the group about his hiking experiences around the globe, and hiking at altitude. Among numerous significant achievements, Mango has two succesful Mount Everest summit attempts under his belt and is one of Townsville’s veteran explorers.

Other topics discussed with the group were hiking in extreme cold weather, jungle and desert hiking, oxygen and altitude and some essentials to have both on the person, and in the backpack when hiking and adventuring around the globe.

We thank Mango for volunteering his time to share stories of his adventures with our group, and we look forward to seeing you at our monthly Adventure Sessions events, where we aim to provide outdoor education and information to our community at free, fun, informative and social events.
